Adafruit NeoPixel Digital RGB LED Strip - Black 30 LED - BLACK

£85.80 GBP Sale

These NeoPixel strips are a high-quality, affordable option for adding vibrant, individually controlled RGB lighting to your project. Each strip features 30 digitally-addressable LEDs per meter and is 12.5mm wide (10mm without the casing), perfect for compact designs. This version comes with a black flex PCB, offering the same functionality as the white version but with a different color mask.

Key Features:

  • LED Configuration: 30 RGB LEDs per meter, each individually addressable with 24-bit color (8-bit PWM per color).
  • Power Consumption: Maximum of 9.5 Watts (~2 Amps at 5V) per meter, typically drawing less current when displaying colorful designs.
  • Control: Uses timing-specific protocol for precise control, requiring microcontrollers with 100nS timing precision (e.g., Arduino Uno/Mega at 8MHz/16MHz). Not compatible with processors slower than 8 MHz.
  • Memory Requirements: Requires buffered memory in the microcontroller (e.g., Arduino Uno has about 1500 bytes available for up to 500 LEDs).
  • Flexible and Customizable: Can be cut every 1.3”/3.4cm (1 LED), with copper pads for easy soldering and the ability to connect strips for longer lengths.
  • Weatherproof: The strip is encased in a protective sheathing, ideal for outdoor or exposed installations.
  • Power Supply: Requires a 5V DC power supply (5V/2A for up to 1 meter, 5V/10A for up to 10 meters). Never use more than 6V as it may damage the strip.
  • Connectivity: Comes with a JST SM connector on each end (2 or 3 pins) and separated power/ground wires for easy connection.

These strips come in 5-meter reels with connectors for easy installation. If you buy less than 5 meters, you'll receive a cut piece from the reel, which may or may not have a connector. To wire, we recommend a 2.1mm DC jack to connect to a wall adapter for power, and a 2-pin JST set for data and ground connections.

Note: A proper power supply is essential for optimal performance. Avoid using higher than 6V to prevent damage to the strip.
