The Non-Latching Mini Relay FeatherWing is the perfect addition to any Feather board, allowing you to control power for lamps, fans, solenoids, and other small appliances running on up to 250VAC or DC power. It's a simple and efficient way to add power control capabilities to your Feather project.
Easy Integration: Attach this FeatherWing to any Feather board using Feather Stacking Headers or Feather Female Headers, and you're ready to start controlling power in your projects. Check out the range of Feather boards for complete compatibility.
Relay Functionality: The Non-Latching Relay features a single SET pin. By default, the COM pin is connected to the NC pin, while the NO pin is disconnected. When the SET pin is pulled high, the relay switches, connecting the COM pin to the NO pin and disconnecting the NC pin.
Power Efficiency: When the relay is active, a red LED lights up, indicating the relay's status. The relay uses about 50mA of current to stay switched on, but if the power is lost, the relay will return to its "open" state. If you're concerned about power consumption, consider the Latching Relay FeatherWing, which uses two pins but saves power and retains the last setting even after a power loss.
Relay Capacity: The Non-Latching Mini Relay can handle up to 2A of resistive current at 30VDC or ~40VAC, with specific switching capabilities for higher voltages: 0.6A at 110VDC, 0.5A at 120VAC, and 0.3A at 250VAC. For inductive or reactive loads, be sure to check the relay datasheet and derate accordingly. This relay is not intended for high-power devices like washers or dryers, so stick to devices drawing 60W or less. For more powerful devices, the Power FeatherWing can handle up to 10A.
Assembly & Setup: Each FeatherWing comes with a fully assembled and tested PCB, complete with a terminal block for easy wiring. We include headers for attaching the FeatherWing to your Feather board, but some light soldering is required for a secure connection.
Safety Note: When working with voltages above 24V, exercise caution and ensure you're following proper safety guidelines. High voltages should only be handled by experienced engineers familiar with safety practices.
With this Non-Latching Mini Relay FeatherWing, you can effortlessly add power control to your Feather-based projects, perfect for home automation, robotics, and more!
