Adafruit PiOLED - 128x32 Monochrome OLED Add-on for Raspberry Pi

£13.60 GBP Sale

The Adafruit 128x32 PiOLED is a compact, monochrome OLED display designed for Raspberry Pi projects, particularly suited for the Raspberry Pi Zero. With a sharp 128x32 white pixel OLED screen, this display connects via I2C pins, leaving your GPIO pins free for other components like buttons, LEDs, or sensors. Its small size (about 1" diagonal) makes it easy to fit into any case, and its high contrast makes it highly readable.

The display is energy-efficient since it doesn't require a backlight, as the OLED pixels generate their own light, resulting in low power consumption and high contrast. This makes it ideal for projects where clear and crisp visuals are needed while conserving power.

It’s easy to set up using a Python library for the SSD1306 chipset, and you can create custom images and text using the Python Imaging Library. The display supports up to 30 FPS update rates, which makes it suitable for simple animations or video.

Pre-assembled and tested, the PiOLED is plug-and-play with all Raspberry Pi models, including Pi 1, B+, Pi 2, Pi 3, Pi 4, and Pi Zero. However, to prolong its lifespan, it's recommended to turn off the display when not in use, as leaving it on for long periods may cause the OLED pixels to dim over time.
