Adafruit Ultimate GPS FeatherWing

Introducing the Ultimate GPS FeatherWing, the perfect solution for adding high-precision GPS functionality to your Feather board. Designed to give your Feather board location-awareness and more, this FeatherWing features a MTK3333 GPS+GLONASS module, renowned for its -165 dB sensitivity and ability to track up to 33 satellites across 99 channels. Whether you're working on a tracking device, a timekeeping project, or just need reliable GPS data anywhere in the world, this module has you covered.

With an incredibly low 30mA current draw, this GPS module is highly efficient, making it ideal for portable or battery-powered projects. The module also features a real-time clock (RTC) with a coin cell battery backup, allowing for accurate timekeeping and warm starts, even if the main power is lost.

Additional features include:

• GPS+GLONASS support for improved satellite tracking capabilities
• PPS output (Pulse Per Second) on fix for precise time synchronization
• Built-in patch antenna with a u.FL connector for adding an external active antenna for even better reception
• Fix status LED that blinks when searching for satellites and lights up once a fix is found
• FET-driven ENABLE pin to turn off the module for low power use when needed

This FeatherWing is fully assembled and ready to use, with headers included for easy integration with your Feather board. However, the CR1220 coin cell battery for RTC backup is sold separately, although not required for basic functionality.
