Description

BreadPi is a multi-purpose HAT (Hardware Attached on Top) that consists of a mini breadboard on top, ADC, a Programmable Buzzer, Programmable LEDs, push buttons, and 5V tolerant inputs at the Operating Voltage of 3.3V DC at a single place. BreadPi was developed with advanced features like independently controllable LEDs, inputs(Analog & digital), and a mini breadboard that helps the user to prototype their projects in an efficient way.

BreadPi - Breadboard HAT for Raspberry Pi

BreadPi Breadboard HAT for Raspberry Pi can be interfaced with 3.3V devices/sensors from which a user can run electrical experiments, prototypes, mini robots, and games, interact with Linux-ready Raspberry Pi, Exploration of circuits, etc. One can also connect external components with the breadboard provided on the top of the BreadPi HAT.

  • Four 5V I/O on four-channel up to 500 mA
  • 3v3 Goodies
  • Python Library
  • Compatible with all Raspberry Pi Board (40 Pin GPIO Compatible)
  • ADC with four analog inputs, 1 analog output
  • Programmable Buzzer
  • 5 Channel input of 2V-5V as a logic high

Likes: That you don't need a breadboard next to the Raspberry Pi but can tack this one right onto the pi itself or even onto another HAT
Improvements: expose all the GPIO pins available and have an option to either use the pins for the Serial block, LEDs, Buttons and Buzzer as GPIO pins in stead of the designated uses
    In the basis very usefull

This is a very useful piece to add onto a Raspberry Pi however, the amount of exposed pins is a bit small. I am planning to tack it onto a MotorShield and all of the CN5 pins, all of the CN6 pins, the MOSI, MISO,SCLK and CE pins, one of the LED pins and the pins for both switches are used by the MotorShield HAT. That leaves only the CN4 pins (designated for UART but they are GPIO pins as well) Only 2 of the GPIO pins (GPIO13, pin33 and GPIO19, pin 35) are free and unavailable on the BreadPi.

It would be nice if all the GPIO pins would be available on the BreadPi and it would also be very useful if the pins are marked with both the GPIO number and the physical pin number or at least make clear which of the 2 is used.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us! It's valuable to us, and we've made sure to take note of it. Our engineering team will certainly look into this to improve our service. If you have any more suggestions or thoughts, we're always here to listen!
