The Adafruit AS7341 10-Channel Light / Color Sensor Breakout is a powerful multi-channel spectrometer designed to detect not only the amount of light but also its distribution across various wavelengths. This enables the sensor to measure color and light characteristics far beyond the capabilities of the human eye.
Key Features:
- 16 sensors in a tiny 3x2mm footprint: Detects 8 overlapping bands of colored light, along with sensors for white light, Near Infra-red light, and light flicker detection (for identifying indoor lighting flicker at specific frequencies).
- Superhuman color detection: The AS7341 can precisely quantify the makeup of colors you point it at, making it possible to differentiate colors with more accuracy than the human eye or even a trained artist.
- 16-bit, 6-channel ADC: Converts raw sensor data into digital values that can be read via I2C, with the ability to handle all 11 individual sensor elements through a Super MUX (SMUX) that routes the signals to ADC channels.
- GPIO and Interrupts: Allows communication with other sensors or directly with the microcontroller.
Easy Integration:
- STEMMA QT connectors: The sensor comes pre-mounted on a breakout board with level shifting circuitry and SparkFun Qwiic compatible connectors, allowing you to easily integrate it with your 3.3V or 5V microcontroller.
- No soldering required: Just plug in a compatible STEMMA QT cable to quickly get started (cable sold separately).
- Compatible with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and CircuitPython boards: Use it with your favorite microcontroller, with libraries and example code available for both Arduino and CircuitPython to help you get started.
With the AS7341, you can bring advanced color sensing capabilities into your project, whether for color detection, ambient light analysis, or even assessing flicker in lighting systems. This sensor is perfect for applications that require precise light measurement across a wide range of wavelengths.
(Note: QT Cable is not included but is available separately in the shop.)
