The DRV2605 from TI is a specialized motor driver designed for controlling haptic motors, such as buzzers and vibration motors. Unlike typical motor drivers that control stepper or DC motors, the DRV2605 enables you to create complex vibration effects. You can implement features like ramping vibration levels, click effects, and even sync vibrations to audio inputs, making your haptic projects feel much more dynamic and engaging.

Controlled via I2C, the DRV2605 allows you to string multiple effects together in its memory and trigger them sequentially. This provides a richer and more interactive experience compared to simple on/off control. While it supports both LRA (Linear Resonance Actuator) and ERM (Eccentric Rotating Mass) motors, it's especially effective with the smaller ERM pancake vibration motors we've tested.
