We've enhanced our popular triple-axis accelerometer with a built-in 3.3V regulator, making it an ideal choice for interfacing with 5V microcontrollers like the Arduino. This compact breakout board measures just 0.75"x0.75" and provides three analog outputs for X, Y, and Z axis measurements, offering precise motion sensing in a small package.

The ADXL335, developed by Analog Devices, is a high-quality MEMS sensor known for its reliability and accuracy. The onboard voltage regulator allows it to accept a 5V input and convert it to a stable 3.3V output. The accelerometer's analog outputs are ratiometric, meaning the 0g measurement corresponds to 1.65V (half of the 3.3V output), -3g is 0V, and 3g is 3.3V, with a linear scale in between.

This fully assembled and tested breakout board comes with an 8-pin 0.1" standard header for easy connection to breadboards or perfboards. Two 2mm (0.08") mounting holes make it easy to securely attach to your project. The XYZ filter capacitors are 0.1uF, providing a 50 Hz bandwidth for stable readings.

Technical Details:

  • Dimensions (without header):
    • Length: 19mm (0.75")
    • Width: 19mm (0.75")
    • Height: 3.14mm (0.12")
  • Weight: 1.27g (0.04oz)

Revision History:

  • November 2022: The PCB has been updated with Adafruit Pinguin for a clearer, more legible silkscreen. Both the new and older versions are functionally identical, with the only difference being the updated silkscreen design.
