Introducing the LoRa 433 MHz Radio Module—a powerful and easy-to-use radio module designed for long-range data transmission. Unlike typical Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or Zigbee modules that operate at 2.4 GHz for high-speed transfers, the LoRa module uses a lower frequency of 433 MHz or 900 MHz, enabling significantly longer-range communication at the cost of slower data rates. Perfect for situations where distance is more important than speed, such as sensor networks or transmitting data across campuses or towns.
This LoRa 433 MHz module offers impressive features including a +20dBm power output, capable of reaching up to 2 kilometers in line-of-sight conditions with simple wire antennas. For even greater distances, up to 20 kilometers can be achieved using directional antennas and optimized settings. It uses the SX1276 LoRa® chip with an SPI interface, allowing you to easily integrate it into your projects with Arduino libraries.
With packet radio capabilities, the module handles packetization, error correction, and automatic retransmission, meaning you don't have to worry about maintaining connections or pairing devices. Simply send data, and any module tuned to the same frequency (with the same encryption key) will receive it, offering a hassle-free solution for wireless communication.
Key features include:
- Power Output: Selectable from +5 to +20 dBm (up to 100 mW)
- Current Consumption: ~100mA peak during transmission at +20dBm, ~30mA during active listening
- Range: Approximately 2 km in open space, up to 20 km with optimal setup
- Antenna: Use a simple wire antenna or attach an external antenna via uFL or SMA connector
- Frequency: 433 MHz (also available in 900 MHz)
- Power Supply: 3.3V to 5V DC (voltage regulator and level shifter included)
- SPI Interface: Easily connectable to microcontrollers such as Arduino
This module is ideal for creating low-power, long-range wireless networks without the complexity of Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Whether you're working on a remote sensor project or need reliable data transmission over long distances, the LoRa 433 MHz module is your solution.
