The Terminal Block Breakout FeatherWing kit is a powerful and versatile tool for prototyping with Feather boards. It offers a well-designed prototyping area beneath your Feather board, with additional pads for ground, 3.3V, and SDA/SCL connections. Expanding its capabilities, the PCB measures 2" x 2.5" and features 3.5mm pitch terminal blocks along each side, allowing for easy wiring of your Feather to external circuits. The kit also includes four mounting holes for securely attaching it to enclosures or projects.

This FeatherWing is compatible with most Feather boards, but please note that Reverse TFT Feather boards will not work due to their "upside down" configuration. The terminal blocks allow for simple connections to external Feather pins, making it ideal for both temporary and permanent installations. Additionally, extra terminal block pins for ground and 3.3V are included for added convenience. The terminal blocks may come in either blue or black.

A slide switch is incorporated into the design to connect the EN pin to ground when in the 'off' position, effectively cutting off the 3.3V regulator. However, please note that the FONA Feather uses both VBat and 3.3V as power sources, so it cannot be fully powered off with this switch.

Technical Details:

  • Dimensions (assembled): 64mm x 51mm x 12mm / 2.5" x 2.0" x 0.5"
  • Includes datasheet, schematic, EagleCAD PCB files, and Fritzing objects in the product tutorial
  • Some users have reported compatibility issues with the Particle Boron; adding a 10K resistor on the EN line can improve performance.

Revision History:

  • August 22, 2024: The terminal blocks are now green, and the PCB was updated with Adafruit Pinguin for a more legible silkscreen.
  • February 5, 2020: The trace to the enable pin was made thicker, and a ground plane was added to reduce high-noise interference.
  • December 15, 2016: The product now comes fully assembled, ready for immediate use with your Feather board.
