This simple device lets you extend the length of two 15-pin 1.0mm pitch camera cables by connecting them end-to-end. It handles the necessary pin rearranging for you—just snap the two cables into place. To use it, carefully pry open the two ears of the connectors, insert the cables with the contacts facing up, and push the ears back in to secure the connection.
While the CSI/DSI interface isn't designed for long cable runs (usually not recommended to extend beyond 25cm), we’ve successfully connected two 1-meter extension cables using this Thingy, and both the display and camera worked fine. However, keep in mind that this is not guaranteed—it's simply a workaround, and extending CSI/DSI cables beyond their intended length could cause issues.
This connector is specifically designed for use with classic 15-pin 1.0mm pitch flex cables.
