The Feather M4 CAN Express is an upgraded version of one of our favorite Feathers, now powered by the ATSAME51 chipset, offering built-in CAN bus support! This powerful board features a 120MHz Cortex M4 processor with floating-point support, 512KB of Flash memory, and 192KB of RAM, making it perfect for fast, efficient CAN interfacing projects. The CAN transceiver chip, along with a 5V power converter, allows seamless communication even when running on battery power. The CAN signals and ground reference are available through a 3-pin terminal block, and the transceiver can be put to sleep for power saving.

This Feather is fully compatible with all FeatherWings, making it an excellent option for rapid prototyping. It is also pin-compatible with the original Feather M4, so you can easily swap or upgrade.

The Feather M4 CAN Express is designed for ease of use—simply plug it in and it appears as a small disk drive. Edit the main.py file to build your project in Python, and no special software is needed. It's perfect for use on any computer, including Chromebooks. It supports both CircuitPython and Arduino IDE, offering flexibility and ease of programming.

Additionally, the board comes pre-loaded with the UF2 bootloader for easy firmware updates, and it's fully assembled and tested. It also includes headers for soldering into a breadboard.
