Description
Add Internet to your next project with the Adafruit HUZZAH ESP8266 Breakout, a bite-sized WiFi microcontroller featuring the ESP8266 processor from Espressif. This 80 MHz microcontroller includes a full WiFi front-end supporting client and access point modes, along with a TCP/IP stack with DNS.
Designed for ease of use, this breakout includes a certified module with an onboard antenna and many pins on a breakout PCB with added features:
- Reset button
- User button for bootloading mode
- Red LED for status
- Level shifting on UART and reset pin
- 3.3V, 500mA regulator (supports up to 250mA draw)
- Two diode-protected power inputs (USB and battery)
The board provides breadboard-friendly breakouts with:
- 1 analog input (1.0V max)
- 9 GPIO pins (3.3V logic) usable for I2C or SPI
- 2 UART pins
- 2 power inputs (3-6V), reset, enable, LDO-disable, 3.3V output
An FTDI pinout allows direct connection for serial communication and programming. The HUZZAH comes pre-loaded with NodeMCU's Lua interpreter but also supports Arduino IDE usage with ESP8266 core.
Each order includes one assembled and tested breakout board and a stick of 0.1" header (soldering required). Solderless breadboard and USB serial cable are not included but recommended for programming.
