Adafruit PiRTC - PCF8523 Real Time Clock for Raspberry Pi

This battery-backed real-time clock (RTC) for Raspberry Pi ensures accurate timekeeping even during power loss. Ideal for data logging, time-stamping, and alarms, it features a PCF8523 RTC with native kernel support. The RTC module works with various Raspberry Pi models, including Pi 1, 2, 3, Zero, A+, B+, and Pi 4. The fully assembled PCB plugs directly into the GPIO pins, requiring no soldering. It can keep time for over five years. Note: a CR1220 coin cell battery is needed but not included. The PCF8523 may lose or gain a second or two per day.
