The PowerBoost 500C is an ideal power supply for your portable project, offering a built-in battery charger to keep your project running while the battery recharges. This compact DC/DC boost converter module takes power from any 3.7V LiIon/LiPoly battery and converts it to a stable 5.2V DC, perfect for running 5V-powered devices like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and BeagleBone.
Key Features:
- Converts 3.7V LiIon/LiPoly battery to 5.2V DC, with added headroom for long cables or high current draw.
- Supports devices up to 500mA+ with a 2A internal switch and 700kHz high-frequency operation.
- Efficient, synchronous operation with 90%+ efficiency in most cases.
- Low battery detection with a red LED that activates when voltage dips below 3.2V.
- Features onboard 500mA charge-rate 'iOS' data resistors for iPhone or iPod charging (not recommended for large iPads).
- 500mA max charging rate for 3.7V/4.2V LiIon/LiPoly batteries with microUSB jack and LED indicators.
- Charge and boost simultaneously without interruption—perfect for "UPS" (un-interruptable power supply) use with low-current devices.
- Includes full breakout for battery in, control pins, and power out.
The PowerBoost 500C also features a MicroLipo charger, powered via microUSB, and comes fully assembled and tested. For easy integration, the module includes a loose USB A jack for soldering, or you can use a 3.5mm 2-pin block for more compact setups.
Please Note:
- Works only with a LiPoly/LiIon battery (battery not included).
- Ideal for powering robots, Arduino projects, Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone, and other low-current devices.
- Requires a battery with a capacity of at least 500mAh.
Each order includes one fully assembled PowerBoost 500C + USB jack. Additional components such as the battery, switch, or cables are sold separately. Be sure to check out the detailed tutorial for setup and usage!
