VS1053B MP3/WAV/OGG/MIDI Player & Recorder (CODEC) Chip

The VS1053 is a versatile multi-format audio codec chip that can decode digital audio files such as MP3, FLAC, AAC, OGG, and WAV as well as encode audio into digital formats like WAV and OGG. This chip significantly reduces the processing load on small microcontrollers by handling complex audio decoding operations.

This chip requires some support circuitry; for beginners, the VS1053 breakout board featuring a microSD socket and level shifting is recommended. For advanced users and custom projects, this raw chip offers more customization.
