The BH1750 16-bit Ambient Light Sensor from Rohm is a compact and affordable sensor designed to measure the intensity of light in an environment. Perfect for microcontroller projects, it can help determine whether to adjust display brightness, guide robots to areas with more light, or even detect whether it's day or night.

Key Features:

  • 16-bit light measurements: Measures light in lux (SI unit for light intensity), with a range from 0 to 65,000+ lux, and can be adjusted to measure up to 100,000 lux.
  • Small and easy to use: Packaged in a small, easy-to-handle PCB with STEMMA QT connectors for simple plug-and-play setup.
  • Compatible with 3.3V and 5V systems: Can be used with microcontrollers such as Feather M4, Raspberry Pi, and Arduino without the need for additional circuitry.
  • I2C interface: Easily connect to your microcontroller using I2C for fast data transfer.
  • No soldering required: STEMMA QT connectors make it easy to connect the sensor with a compatible cable.

Applications:

  • Measure and adjust display brightness.
  • Guide robots to light sources.
  • Detect day or night based on ambient light levels.

The BH1750 comes with an integrated voltage regulator and level shifting circuitry to work with both 3.3V and 5V devices, making it versatile for various projects. Plus, we've included a library for easy integration with CircuitPython, Raspberry Pi, and Arduino for a hassle-free experience.

(Note: QT Cable is not included but is available separately in our shop.)
