Description
The Adafruit PiCowbell OV5640 Camera Breakout with 160-Degree Wide-Angle Lens is a quality 5 Megapixel sensor camera breakout designed to work with the Raspberry Pi Pico or Pico W. It features a wide 160-degree field of view lens and support circuitry to capture raw RGB images or JPEG images for saving or streaming. The board offers an interface for the OV5640 camera module, a micro SD card slot for storage, and onboard shutter and reset buttons.
This board interfaces with the RP2040 microcontroller via a fast PIO interface capable of handling parallel digital (DVP) camera data. Multiple GPIO pins are used for camera signals including VSync, Power Down, HSync, Pixel Clock, SDA/SCL, data pins, and Reset. Additional pins support an SPI micro SD card and buttons. The camera module lens is fixed focus (no auto-focus capability).
Features:
- 5 Megapixel OV5640 camera sensor
- 160-degree wide angle fixed focus lens
- DVP 8-bit parallel digital interface compatible with RP2040 PIO
- Micro SD card slot with SPI interface
- Shutter button and reset button on board
- Onboard 16 MHz oscillator for camera clock (XClock)
- Stemma QT port for I2C connection
- Compact dimensions: 53.0mm x 20.3mm x 11.6mm
